Jonathan Haynes, the director of Veritas Cullman and Madison, graduated from the United States Naval Academy (B.S. in Political Science, 1995) and received a commission in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Haynes and his wife, Karena, married in the same year. While on active duty, Mr. Haynes became familiar with Classical Christian Education which led him out of the active duty Marine Corps and into Christian education.
Mr. Haynes taught logic and rhetoric and worked with curriculum development at Providence Christian School in Dothan, Alabama, for six years. Then he taught language arts, literature, history, math and logic at Heritage Preparatory School in Atlanta, GA for two years.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Haynes served as the Director of Curriculum at Heritage Preparatory School. He is currently working on a Masters of Education degree in Integrated Curriculum and Instruction from Covenant College (Lookout Mountain, GA).
Mr. Haynes has six children all of whom have been homeschooled. The oldest two children will be enrolled at Veritas Cullman this school year.
